A 20-year-old serving police constable with Wiltshire Police has been summoned to court to face five charges related to indecent images.
Callum Denley, from Malmesbury, will appear before the court on 3rd April to answer the allegations.
The charges against Denley include making indecent images of children, categorised from A to C, as well as possession of extreme pornographic and prohibited images of a child.
Wiltshire Police took immediate action upon becoming aware of the allegations, suspending Denley from his duties.
It has since been confirmed that Denley had previously submitted his notice of resignation, with today marking his last day as a serving police officer.
As the investigation is ongoing, Wiltshire Police has stated that it would be inappropriate to comment further on the matter at this stage.
The force is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, and the allegations against Denley are being taken extremely seriously.
