Six officers and staff from Wiltshire Police have set off on a 185-mile charity cycle ride in memory of colleagues who have died in the line of duty.
The team, which includes Assistant Chief Constable Deb Smith, left Police Headquarters in Devizes on Thursday morning and will spend the next three days cycling to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
They are taking part in this year's Police Unity Tour, a national event which brings together police forces from across the UK. Riders are expected to arrive on Sunday for a commemoration ceremony honouring officers who have lost their lives while serving.
The ride also raises money for the charity Care of Police Survivors (COPS), which supports the families of police officers who die on duty.
ACC Deb Smith said: "It is always an absolute privilege to take part in this event to honour those officers who have sadly lost their lives whilst on duty.
"In Wiltshire, 30 officers have lost their lives since 1839 and we will be thinking of them all during the ride.
"I hope this event also serves as an opportunity for the public to acknowledge the dangers that officers face when policing our county day in, day out, and pay their own tributes to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice."
This year's Wiltshire team is made up of six riders and two support staff.
Since it began, the Police Unity Tour has raised more than £1 million for COPS, helping the charity to purchase its first respite facility, Unity House.
