POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision this morning on the A342 involving a community minibus and a van.

The incident occurred around 11.45am on Monument Hill, near Stert when the Urchfont community bus was involved in a collision with a Heritage Fine Foods van.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, where eleven individuals, aged between 50 and 90, were transported to the hospital for treatment of various injuries. Fortunately, none of the injuries are currently believed to be life-threatening.

The Serious Collision Investigation Team is working at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. As a result, the A342 remains closed in both directions, with an expected reopening time past midnight.

Drivers are strongly advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Police are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or might have dashcam footage to come forward.
