A WOMAN has suffered potentially life-changing injuries following a serious collision in Melksham yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services responded to reports of the collision at about 2.10pm yesterday afternoon (10/2), on the A365 Bath Road in Melksham,

A red Vauxhall Astra had collided with a red Nissan Micra - both travelling from the Bowerhill direction near Bowerhill Lane.  The Nissan is thought to have been stationary and turning right onto Bowerhill Lane, and the Vauxhall has collided with it.

The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 40s, suffered potentially life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains for treatment.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 30s, was uninjured.

The road was closed to allow for enquiries to take place and has since reopened.
