A man has been arrested in Calne following two reported assaults on the same victim. The suspect has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at court in May, while enquiries continue.
The arrest comes during a busy week for Calne’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, who have also dealt with anti-social behaviour, criminal damage and road offences across the town.
Damage to a window at the disused Lloyds Bank building in the High Street was dealt with through a community resolution.
Officers were also called to the disused Co-op building after reports that youths had gained access. Those involved were located and returned home to their parents, with the incident also resolved through community resolutions.

A spokesperson for the local policing team said: “Entering this building is extremely dangerous, and we would urge people to stay away. We welcome the commencement of demolition at the end of the month.”
Meanwhile, two vehicles were seized in Calne on Sunday by a specialist firearms and roads policing unit. One driver had no insurance, while the other vehicle had neither tax nor insurance. Both drivers have been reported.

Police were also called to the A3102 at Greenacres Way following reports of individuals shining a laser at passing vehicles.
“No suspects were located, but patrols in the area have been increased,” the spokesperson added.
In Wessex Close, a man has been fined £400 after repeatedly smearing faeces on vehicles and driveways, in what police described as harassment.
Elsewhere, rural patrols focusing on the safe passing of horses are continuing, while officers are preparing to deliver school sessions on internet safety and knife crime awareness.
PC Ward, who has recently returned from training, joined PCSO Sheppard in delivering a careers talk to students at Kingsbury Green Academy.

PCSO Cook has also completed further neighbourhood policing and Prevent training this week.
The spokesperson added: “Our ongoing focus is to reassure residents and ensure Calne remains a safe place to live and work.”
