A Community Protection Warning has been issued to a man following further concerns about his behaviour in Castlefields Park this week.

The action comes after he failed to follow advice previously given by officers earlier this month.

It follows incidents at the start of March, including on Monday 2nd March, when police received a report that a student from Kingsbury Green Academy was left distressed after being approached.

Officers from the Calne Neighbourhood Policing Team had previously spoken to the man following concerns raised by members of the public but police say that advice was not taken on board.

Police have confirmed that no criminal offences have been identified in connection with the incidents.

The situation has also gained attention online, with social media accounts appearing to show videos filmed in Castlefields Park, referencing a self-described “caveman” lifestyle and inviting members of the public to meet in the area to find out more about his 'revolution'.

Residents have also reported seeing signs in the park encouraging people to approach and speak to the individual.

Several residents have told Calne News they now feel uncomfortable using the park, with some saying they are avoiding walking or exercising there.

Some posts suggest the individual may be staying in the park, although this has not been confirmed.

PCSO Mark Cook said: “Our parks and open spaces should be safe and welcoming for everyone.

"When behaviour causes others to feel uncomfortable or discourages them from using these spaces, we will take appropriate action.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and work with partners to ensure the individual receives appropriate support, while keeping Castlefields Park a safe and enjoyable place for the whole community.”

If you experience any anti-social behaviour in our parks or open spaces, please report this to us on 101 or via our online reporting form: https://orlo.uk/Br2fQ
