A therapy farm supporting vulnerable children near Calne is still urgently searching for a new home, with fears it could be forced to close if a site cannot be found by July.
Dave & Ewe Farm has spent more than a decade helping children with additional needs, trauma and confidence issues through animal-based therapeutic support.
Last year, founder Dave Buscombe revealed the farm would need to leave its current site after being told the land is set for redevelopment.
Now, with time running short, the appeal for help has been renewed.
The farm is looking for around 10 acres of land, ideally with buildings to provide shelter for animals, although any option would be considered, even as a temporary stop-gap while a permanent home is secured.
Over the past 12 years, many local children have benefited from the farm’s work, with demand for places continuing to grow. The service currently has a waiting list and is unable to take enquiries for new children to attend.
Dave & Ewe works with children through interaction with rescued and rehabilitated animals, helping to build confidence, trust and self-esteem in a non-clinical setting.
Dave previously told Calne News: “It’s not just a job - it’s my life.”
He also said his biggest concern is ensuring the animals are safe and do not need to be rehomed.
While the ideal location would remain in North Wiltshire, the farm says it would now consider relocating further afield if it meant securing the future of the project.
Anyone able to help is asked to contact Dave directly on 07979 191034.
