More than £2,150 has been raised for Calne Food Bank following a community fashion show held earlier this month.

The fundraiser, organised by volunteers, took place on Friday 10th April and saw residents turn out to support the charity’s work.

Lady Lansdowne opened the event and spoke about the ongoing demand for the food bank, as well as the challenges some recipients face when using donated items. She urged people to consider how practical their donations are, particularly when some foods require additional energy costs to prepare.

The evening, hosted by Sean from Get in Line, featured a mix of clothing on the runway, from everyday outfits to bridal and occasion wear, with a focus on spring styles.

Alongside the show, a raffle and stalls helped boost fundraising, while an auction at the end of the night ensured leftover items, including cakes and flowers, were sold rather than wasted.

Kevin Wells, Chair of Calne Food Bank, said: “We are truly grateful to everyone who supported our charity fashion show on Friday. It was a tremendous success.”

Funds raised will go towards helping the food bank continue supporting people in Calne facing financial hardship.
