The Lower Pippin car park is set to close from the end of March as demolition work begins on the former Co-op site.
Calne Town Council has confirmed the car park, behind the old Mill Street building, will shut from Tuesday 31st March while the long-awaited demolition takes place.

Hoarding will be installed around the site during the works, which are being carried out by Cedar Care Homes ahead of plans to build a new care home.
A spokesperson for the town council said: “The town council has been advised that the Lower Pippin car park will be closed from March 31, 2026, to allow for the demolition of the former Co-op store.
“We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but please keep clear of all fenced-off areas for your safety.”
The closure is likely to be felt locally, with the car park regularly used by residents, town centre workers and visitors. It also removes one of the more convenient free parking spots close to the town centre, which has been widely used in recent years.
The site has been empty for several years and has previously been the focus of anti-social behaviour, with demolition seen as a key step towards bringing it back into use.
Last year, concerns were raised about the impact of losing parking in the area, with around 60 vehicles a day estimated to use the site. An agreement had been reached to allow temporary parking in the meantime, but that will now come to an end as work gets underway.
There is currently no confirmed date for when the car park will reopen.
