RAIDERS threatened a home owner in The Green in the early hours of this morning before fleeing the area empty-handed.
The couple were woken at about 3.30am when two intruders forced their way into the home on The Green. They then threatened the husband who had gone downstairs to challenge the intruders with his dog.
A police spokesperson said: "The men threatened the victim with what he believes was a hammer before leaving the property empty-handed."
Police are now appealing for anyone with CCTV or a video doorbell covering this area to check their footage around that time frame.
A post on Facebook today from one of the victims read: "Last night at 3.30am two intruders forced entry to our home on The Green and threatened my husband, who challenged them, with a hammer. He was able to chase them away. Please be on your guard! We got great value out of our big dog last night and now he is on the alert! Burglars be warned."
