Plans for a new farm shop and kitchen on the edge of Calne will go on public display later this month as the family behind the proposal invites residents to have their say.
The Wilkins family, who run Nolands Farm in Yatesbury, have submitted a planning application to Wiltshire Council for a development on land south of Lower Compton.

The family say they have lived and worked in the area since 1989 and hope the proposed farm shop and kitchen will provide a new outlet for their own produce as well as goods from other local and British farmers.
According to a statement released by the family, the plans could also create a new community space where local groups and organisations could meet, while also providing new employment opportunities.
The family said: "We are passionate about quality British food and have long dreamed of opening a Farm Shop & Kitchen to provide our local community with our own farm produce, plus that of other local and British farmers."

The proposed development would be located on fields south of Lower Compton which the family purchased in 2024.
The family say they are keen to hear residents' views before the application is determined and will be holding a public drop-in event later this month.
"We want to talk to and engage with our local community to hear your ideas, comments, feedback and suggestions. To give you the best opportunity to understand and scrutinise our plans, we are hosting a drop-in event."
The event will take place on Sunday 28th June between 12pm and 6pm, with plans and supporting documents available to view and members of the project team on hand to answer questions.
The planning application has been submitted to Wiltshire Council with a consultation deadline of 16th July 2026. You can view it here.
