PROPOSALS for new crossings at the junctions of Stickleback and School Road and traffic calming at Honeysuckle Close have been put forward for consultation.

The A3102, between Junction 16 of the M4 near Swindon to the A350 in Melksham, via Royal Wootton Bassett and Calne, was identified through the Road Safety Foundation analysis, and Wiltshire Council has been awarded £6.98m for the A3102 Safer Roads project.

The scheme will include a range of safety measures, such as improving signage and road markings, and redesigning some junctions.

As part of this project, new crossings at the junctions of Stickleback and School Road and traffic calming at Honeysuckle Close are now in the process of planning.

Honeysuckle Close, Calne at a point approximately 5 metres east from its junction with
the A3102. Maximum height of 75 millimetres with a maximum ramp gradient of 1 in 12

Installation of a Zebra (Parrallel) Crossing (a combined pedestrian and cycle crossing which has priority over
the road which it crosses) at the following locations:
School Road, Calne at a point approximately 10 metres south east of its junction with
A3102 roundabout.

Stickleback Road, Calne at a point approximately 10 metres south east of its junction
with A3102 roundabout
