Residents are being invited to have their say on the future of the Calne Summer Carnival at a special meeting next week following the event's cancellation last month.

Calne Town Council has announced an Extraordinary Full Council Meeting on Thursday 9th July after the Town Council's Events Working Group reviewed the timeline surrounding security and marshal provision for this year's Carnival.

The meeting has been called by the Town Mayor, Cllr Havenith, to hear directly from residents and discuss the future of the long-running community event.

It follows the cancellation of the 2026 Summer Carnival, which had been due to take place last Saturday, 27th June.

The meeting will take place at Calne Town Hall from 7pm and is open to residents, community groups, volunteers, local businesses and anyone with an interest in the future of the Carnival.

Calne Town Council says it is keen to hear constructive feedback and ideas that can help shape future discussions and decisions about the event.

Those who cannot attend in person can submit comments or questions in advance by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
