The Lower Pippin car park in Calne will now remain open longer than first expected, following intervention from former town councillor Robert MacNaughton.
It had previously been confirmed that the car park, behind the old Mill Street building, would close from Tuesday 31st March to allow demolition work to begin.

However, after contacting the site owners, Cedar Care Homes, Mr MacNaughton has secured an agreement with their Operations Manager, for the car park to remain open until at least Sunday 19th April.
Mr MacNaughton said the extension would be “good news for the people of the town”, with the car park widely used by residents, workers and visitors.
Plans to demolish the former Co-op building have been in place for some time, with Cedar Care Homes intending to build a new dementia specialist care home on the site.
The car park has remained in use in the meantime, despite the building standing empty for several years and previously being linked to anti-social behaviour.
Around 60 vehicles a day are estimated to use the site, making it one of the more convenient free parking options close to the town centre.
