A Calne veteran who struggles with complex PTSD has published a book of poetry aimed to help those who
struggle with homelessness, mental health conditions following their service in the military.

Alex Gordon Alexander, served in the British Army from 1987 - 2013 in the Royal Signals. He deployed to many different locations around the world including Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and Angola.

Alex is well know in Calne for his tireless fundraising and ceaseless work to raise both money and awareness of the struggle many ex-servicemen and women go through as they return to civilian life.

Alex has struggled himself with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) for many years and found that writing poetry helped him put his feelings on paper - which helped him fight his demons. The book gives advice to those going through similar struggles and also offers support to families who may be finding it hard to understand what is going on in their family member's head.

Over the years, Alex has raised money for Combat Stress, Walking with the Wounded and Wiltshire Air Ambulance amongst others. He also runs the Calne Veterans group for members of the military and blue light services - serving and veteran. They meet twice a week on Tuesdays at 19.30 and Saturdays at 14.00 at Calne Recreation Ground.

The book, A Soldier's View came out on 29th February and is available to buy in both Kindle and paperback format from Amazon here:   https://amzn.eu/d/itVlIco
