The family of Rob Love, a 62-year-old motorcyclist who tragically lost his life following a collision on the A350 West Ashton crossroads late on the evening of 17th December, have shared a moving tribute in his memory.

The accident occurred around 9:10pm when his Yamaha YP 400 collided with a Volkswagen Taigo.

In a poignant statement released by his family, they described Rob as a "devoted husband, father, and grampy/grampsie" to his three beloved grandchildren.

He was born to military parents in England but was raised in Edinburgh alongside his sister Marnie. In 1980, Rob joined the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, serving as a gunner mechanic for 13 years, which included active duty during the Gulf War in 1990.

After his military service, Rob settled in Warminster, where he met his future wife, Sue, in 1987. The couple married the following year and enjoyed a loving partnership that lasted 37 years, raising their son Stuart and welcoming Sue's stepchildren, Antony and Richard, into their family fold.

For over three decades, the family made their home in Westbury, where Rob's passions flourished. He enjoyed walking his dogs,Sam, Bruce, and Ralphy, and building close relationships with neighbours, particularly during the pandemic, when he became an integral part of the affectionately named "Back Lane Gang."

A dedicated scooter enthusiast, Rob also participated in organised events with the local biking community known as the Maxi Muppets. Rob Love leaves behind a legacy of love and community, and he will be dearly missed by Sue, his sons, grandchildren, sister, nephew, extended family, and a host of friends.

His family concluded their tribute with a heartfelt sentiment: "You will forever be my always."
