Wiltshire Search & Rescue has received a £2,140 donation from Persimmon Homes Wessex through the housebuilder’s Community Champions scheme.
The cheque was handed over at the charity’s headquarters in Devizes to chair Adrian Sawyer, volunteer Flic and welfare dog Susi, in the presence of Wiltshire Council leader Cllr Ian Thorn.

Wiltshire Search & Rescue is a volunteer-led charity which assists emergency services in locating vulnerable and missing people across the county.
The organisation does not receive regular statutory funding and relies on fundraising, grants and donations to continue operating.
Last year alone, the team was called out 94 times and volunteers contributed more than 25,000 hours supporting searches and community safety work.
The charity said the latest donation will help fund essential new equipment.
Adrian Sawyer, chair of Wiltshire Search & Rescue, said: “We are very grateful that Persimmon has decided to support us once again. With annual costs in the six figures, donations from organisations like this are incredibly valuable to us.
“The charity will be putting these funds towards new equipment that are always in need of replenishing.”
Persimmon Homes Wessex sales director Pauline Fletcher said the company was proud to support the charity’s work across Wiltshire.
She said: “With three live sites, and more to come, across the county, it makes sense for Persimmon to lend a helping hand to Wiltshire Search & Rescue.
“We are very happy to choose them as our latest Community Champions and are very proud to support them in their much-valued work.”
Wiltshire Council leader Cllr Ian Thorn also praised the organisation’s contribution to the community.
He said: “I am very much aware of Wiltshire Search & Rescue’s exceptional service in the community, so was delighted to hear that Persimmon have made another generous donation to them.”
