A new chapter has begun for a beloved ice cream business that has been serving Calne and surrounding areas for over 40 years.
The Mazzotta family's ice cream business, started by Domenico Mazzotta and his brothers in the 1970s, has been passed down to the next generation.
Domenico's niece, Lucia, has taken over the business, following in her uncle's footsteps. With her brother's guidance, Lucia has been training and learning the ropes, ensuring that the traditional values and flavours that customers have grown to love will continue.
While maintaining the classic ice cream experience, Lucia is also introducing modern twists and trends to the menu. Customers can expect to find a variety of unique flavors and treats, in addition to the traditional favourites.
One thing that may take some time to master is Domenico's famous tricks, which have become a hallmark of the business. His niece is eager to learn, but admits that replicating her uncle's signature moves, such as turning a 99 upside down, may take some practice.
Lucia told us: "I will also be holding park ups where I will be serving lots of different ice cream trays as well as being able to get all the usuals. You can follow my page for location updates for this. I will also now be taking card payments
"I want to say a big thank you to all the lovely customers who have already made me feel so welcome and have loved hearing all the stories about my uncle and how much he is loved by all - a true gentleman."
As the business begins this new chapter, customers can look forward to the same delicious ice cream, friendly service, and community spirit that has made the Mazzotta family's ice cream business a beloved institution in Calne.
