Calne's own Cllr Sam Pearce-Kearney took part in the Chippenham Half Marathon on Sunday 15th September.
Sam joined hundreds of runners at the start line for the race which took off from Chippenham Town FC before leaving town and passing through the Wiltshire villages and rural roads of Stanley, The Tythertons, Avon, Kellaways and Langley Burrell before returning to town and finishing on Chippenham Sports Field.
Several runners commented on the huge amount of supporters who had turned out to cheer them along the course this year, which really helped keep them going.
Sam wore his Wiltshire Council Fostering top to promote awareness.
Following the race, Sam said: "Congratulations to everyone who completed Chippenham Half Marathon today alongside me.
"The weather was perfect and the crowds were awesome! You might have seen my fostering t shirt!"
