Crowds gathered in Calne this morning to take part in the traditional Remembrance Sunday parade - honouring those who fought and died in conflict.

Calne Town Council and Royal British Legion marked the occasion with the parade through the town to the church.

Royal British Legion and Veterans, Royal Air Force Association, 5 Bn REME Lyneham, Army Cadet Force (Calne Detachment), 2 x Guides Detachments, Calne Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers, and Calne Town Councillors joined the parade which assembled in Phelps Parade before making their way down the High Street to The Strand and then toward St Mary's Church for the service followed by the two-minute silence and laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.

Cllr Ian Thorn commented:  "An honour to take part in today’s act of remembrance in Calne. It would be impossible not to be moved by the Last Post, the laying of wreaths and the singing of the hymns."
