Hosted at the picturesque Manor and Ashbury Resort, Devon, this camp was a perfect blend of intensive kickboxing training and recreational activities, providing young kickboxers with a memorable and enriching experience.
The camp was organised for Elite Junior kickboxers aged 5-12 who were eager to enhance their skills and techniques under the guidance of Elite Head Juniors Instructor, Francesca Jackson and Elite Instructor Becki Manniez.
Over the course of the camp, each junior received a total of eight hours of focused kickboxing training. Sessions covered a range of techniques, from developing existing punches and kicks, to learning more advanced techniques such as the ‘superhero’ punch as well as applying techniques to a body shield that Mrs Jackson wore which was a huge hit with the juniors! The instructors emphasised the importance of discipline, respect, and perseverance, ensuring that each junior left with improved skills and a greater appreciation for kickboxing all while having a ton of fun!
"Our focus, as with all we do, was to enhance our junior’s kickboxing techniques, build confidence while making it fun and engaging for the juniors" said Head Instructor, Francesca Jackson. "We saw amazing progress in a short amount of time, and the juniors' enthusiasm was lovely to see."
Beyond the training, the camp also prioritised downtime and social activities. The beautiful Manor and Ashbury Resort offered numerous facilities that allowed for relaxation and fun. During their free time, juniors and their families participated in various sports such as ice skating, swimming, and archery. Craft sessions were a delightful addition to the camp’s itinerary. The families had the opportunity to engage in creative projects, from making resin poppies to creating beautiful mosaics. These sessions provided a welcome break from the physical element of kickboxing and allowed for personal expression and relaxation.
One of the camp's unique aspects was its focus on family involvement. It was a fantastic opportunity for families to bond and share in their children's accomplishments.
"This camp was about more than just kickboxing," said Head Instructor, Francesca Jackson.
"It was about creating a supportive community where the juniors could grow, build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy quality time with their families."
Parents expressed high praise for the camp, noting the positive impact it had on their children. "My daughter learned so much and had an absolute blast," said Katie Priest, "The balance of structured training and free-time activities was perfect. We can't wait to sign up for next year!"
The success of the first Elite Juniors Kickboxing Camp has set a high standard for future events. The combination of expert training, diverse activities, and a beautiful setting made for an unforgettable experience that left everyone looking forward to next year's camps.
