Over 30 local clubs and organisations will be showcasing activities to improve health and well-being for residents at Calne's Big Get Together 2024.
Local Paralympian, Suzanna Hext will be opening the event at Calne Town Hall on Saturday 14th September at 10am where there will be a range of stalls, taster sessions, and a live jazz concert supported by Celebrating Age Wiltshire.
Calne Health and Social Care Forum, in partnership with the Area Board and Calne Town Council, will be hosting this free health and wellbeing themed event, bringing together clubs and organisations to showcase activities aimed at helping to keep residents stay active, keep well and enjoy a good quality of life.
The event will run from 10am to 2pm at the Town Hall and everyone is welcome to join in.
In addition to the stalls, there will be the opportunity to chat with advice organisations including; Age UK, Rethink Mental Illness, Bobby Van, and Dorothy House amongst many others.
A pop-up cafe will be providing refreshments and there will be a cycling/rowing challenge and free craft activity for all ages.
Over at The Wharf there will be a marquee from 10.15am to 3pm where there will be defibrillator demonstrations and training taking place from 10.15am – 12.00pm and from 10.15am – 1.45pm Calne Men’s Shed will be holding a session for making bird boxes and small wooden aeroplanes. Other free taster sessions taking place throughout the day include: Tae Kwon Do, ladies and juniors kickboxing, walking netball, zumba toning, and yoga.
